Move to Purify: The Simplest Way to Restore Qi

Many assume:
If there is no thirst,
the body lacks no fluids.
Yet over time:
Those who do not feel thirst
tend toward stagnation.
Do not force water—
let the body move first.
After a gentle walk,
when thirst arises,
drink—and it will be just right.
I. Stagnation is not due to lack of elimination,
but because Qi does not move
When Qi does not move,
fluids do not circulate;
When fluids do not circulate,
turbidity remains within.
Thus we observe:
No thirst, yet the mouth feels dull
No heat, yet the body feels heavy
No illness, yet the spirit is not at ease
A sense of cold—whether within or without
Neither deficiency nor excess,
but simply—
👉The Qi has not yet opened.
II. When one moves, Qi moves
Movement need not be far,
nor fast.
Walk with ease,
move in relaxation.
Only that:
Steps have rhythm,
and Qi follows.
Within a simple walk:
The legs move → Qi returns to the root
Breath softens → Qi circulates in the center
Light sweat emerges → Turbidity releases outward
A slight runny nose—the upper passages open, and cold releases outward
Thus:
👉 When Qi moves, fluids move, and turbidity dissolves.
III. Gentle thirst is a sign of activation
A slight thirst after walking
is not depletion of fluids.
It is the sign that,
as Qi begins to move,
fluids follow.
A cup of warm water at this moment
is easily received and transformed.
Not a forceful replenishment,
but simply—
👉 Supporting what is already in motion.
IV. Nourishment is not about doing more,
but allowing flow
Modern life often binds us in:
Prolonged sitting
Excessive thinking
Overeating
Lack of movement
Thus Qi becomes constrained,
its rising and falling disordered,
its in-and-out blocked.
Therefore, the way is not to add more,
but to open what is already there.
No complex methods are needed,
Only—
👉 Walk, from time to time.
Closing
When one moves, Qi moves;
when Qi moves, turbidity transforms.
One need not do much—
only ensure that there is a path for Qi.
